This rosary is made of bulbs of turmeric which is considered one of the most purifying herbs in Ayurveda. It is associated with fertility. It is considered auspicious for getting victory over enemies. It is used for recitation of mantras and yagna of Goddess Baglamukhi and planet Jupiter, to get victory over enemy and in litigation matters. One who wears this mala attains peace of mind and gets rid of anxiety, depression and tensions. The wearer also acquires a good amount of spiritual powers. Turmeric has played an important role in both Buddhist and Hindu spiritualism. The robes of the Buddhist monks wear traditionally colored with a yellow dye made of turmeric. Turmeric is associated with Lord Sun and Lord vishnu. Yellow is the color of the solar plexus chakra, which is relating to the metabolic and digestive systems. Orange is the color of the sacral chakra, and tied to the reproductive system. The tumeric plant is used in pujas to represent a form of durga who is blamed to reside on this plant as herself. It is used in pujas to make a form of Lord Ganesha. Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is invoked at the beginning of almost any ceremony and a form of Ganesha for this purpose is made by mixing turmeric with water and forming it into a cone-like shape.
