About the Book: Shakespeare and Tears, the title story, is not a sheer section of text. It has life in it; it engrosses a struggle to acclimatize life?s bitter experiences into art; it makes an intense endeavour to create turmoil in the fewest possible canvas. The wretchedness of life, the high excitement of existence and the mental agitation are best portrayed through an English teacher as the protagonist of the story. The facility to restructure a new world is, in fact, mesmerizing. Other stories in the collection take new heights as arguments, and themes initiate not from imagination but from bitter realities of life. These stories make an attempt to capture various fa?ades of human temperament and interactions. In the very first collection, the writer, to a very large extent, succeeds in combining creativity and nimbleness to exploit the rules of the genre. About the Author: Dr. N.S. Patil is an Associate Professor of English at Sharanabasaveshwar College of Science, Gulbarga. He is well versed in Kannada and English language and literature. He has published five collections of short stories, two collections of poems in Kannada and two works in English. He has been deeply involved in teaching, research and publications all through his career. As an academician he has attended and presented many scholarly papers at national level seminars, symposia and conferences. Besides, he is actively engaged in various academic bodies at college and university levels. He is recognized as a research guide by Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. Some research scholars are working on research projects under his guidance.
