Besides the translation of Shri Sai Satcharita, she is also the author of Avadhuta Yogi Pant Maharaj. Indira Kher’s use of uncomplicated, simple language and knowledge of Marathi do full justice to the translation of the Shri Sai Satcharita. She has managed to keep the original flavour of the text, while making it easier for English-speaking readers to understand the teachings and instructions of Shri Sai Baba. A retired professor of English, Indira Kher was also the editor of Sri Sai Leela magazine. She is also the recipient of the Hari Pandit Prize and the Radhabai Paonaskar Silver medal.
