Sleeping Beauty is a timeless tale for children, retold from the original stories by the Brothers Grimm. Summary of the Book A kingdom is overjoyed when their queen gives birth to a lovely young princess. The king throws a grand ball and invites three witches to come and bless the young girl. Two witches bless the princess, but before the third can bestow her blessing, an evil witch appears, enraged that she wasn’t invited and curses the girl to die after being pricked by a spinning wheel’s pin when she comes of age. The third witch blesses the girl to fall into slumber instead of dying, and tells the king and queen that she will awaken at true love’s first kiss. After the young girl comes of age, she is pricked by a spinning wheel and falls into slumber. The kingdom falls into ruin, and many years pass. The neighbouring kingdoms hear of this story, and many bold and daring princes journey to try their luck at awakening her. Will Sleeping Beauty ever awaken from this terrible curse?
