Peter M. Robinson’s Snapshots From Hell: The Making Of An MBA is an entertaining take on the MBA and the arduous process involved in acquiring this degree. Summary Of The Book Peter M. Robinson provides a hilarious account of the life of an MBA aspirant in his book Snapshots From Hell: The Making Of An MBA. This entertaining narrative deals with the issues and challenges that are faced by readers when trying to complete the MBA course. The author, through his own experience as an MBA student at Stanford Business School, narrates some of the issues he faced as a student. It was during his time in business school that he started keeping a journal to record some of his impressions. This book does not deal with the problems in a serious fashion. It adopts a comic tone and goes back to the author’s childhood days when he had first gone to math camp. He also details the huge number of core courses he had to tackle and the hectic schedule he had to follow. Far from being an instant success, Robinson had to go through a lot of challenges in order to reach the position he has. There is also an elaborate description of his interview with the enigmatic Robert Maxwell. He also describes his meetings with some of the most celebrated business personalities of the world. The author draws from his experience as a white house speechwriter for Bush and Reagan. Having acquired a MBA degree and worked for business moguls like Steve Jobs, Murdoch and Robert Maxwell, the author states clearly that the MBA is not the most useful degree. It is individual merit that result in long term success. Snapshots From Hell: The Making Of An MBA is not only witty, but also honest in the way it deals with some of the current issues that students will face if they go down the same academic path. It is a book meant for the aspiring MBA student, and has been well received by students and critics alike. About Peter M. Robinson Peter M.
