Dr. Karrey obtained his PhD at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, USA, and conducts research into the fields of autonomous and intelligent systems, computational intelligence and applications, cognitive robotics and advanced mechatronics, and multi-modal information retrieval among other topics. The Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics(B), the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, the IEEE Transactions on Mechatronics, the IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine, Dr. Karrey has contributed much to the fields of cognitive robotics, natural human-machine interaction, autonomous and intelligent systems, and voice and media concept extraction.
