This book is specially written for the third paper of physics for third year T.D.C students of Mohan lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur and Second paper of Physics for third year B.Sc. Students of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, However the students of another Indian University will also fin the book useful for their competitive examination. In the present book not only a large number of solved problems of different types asked in the examination of various universities has been given, but also the self explanatory diagram have been included to understand the applications of various principles discussed in the chapter. The book is divided into 15 chapter, first six chapter are related to solid state physics covering symmetry operations related to crystal like, translation and rotational symmetry. Typical crystal structures are also given in these chapters. Different methods to identify the crystal structures and reciprocal lattice vectors along with their properties are explained in this section. Different types of crystal binding, Drude-Lorentz theory, Sommerfeld's free electron model, kroning-Penny model, Fermi-Dirac Distribution law, Hall Effect, and charge transport phenomenon are key features of this section. Chapter seven to thirteen are related to nuclear physics in which nuclear structure and properties of nucleus, semi-empirical mass formula, liquid drop model, different types of scattering.
