Shani Grah or the planet Saturn is considered a paap grah or a malefic planet. Shani is called a Krishna varna (dark coloured) planet. Shani is referred to as a neutral gender planet and is attributed feature such as dull, yellow eyes, gaseous body, weakling, long-bodied, slow and similar to sloths, etc. Shani rules the western direction. It is said that Shani lords over justice and payback. So if one's deeds, past or present, warrant a harsh payback, Shani will ensure that there is retribution.
