Tenali Rama is an Indian historical comedy-drama based on the life of the legendary Telugu & Kannada poet Tenali Ramakrishna, one of the eight honorable poets at the court of Vijayanagara emperor Krishnadevaraya (C.E. 1509–1529), who is often cited as the greatest Vijayanagara emperor. He was a Telugu poet who hailed from what is now the Andhra Pradesh region, generally known for the folk tales which focus on his wit. Wit is a form of intelligent humor, the ability to say or write things that are clever and usually funny.
