The Upa-Puranas are similar in style and content to the major Puranas, although they are much shorter in length. Most of the Upa-Puranas were composed as commentaries on the original Puranas, and were intended to provide additional information on various topics, such as the Vedas, Dharma-Sastras, Dharma-Shastras, Ithihasas and Itivruttas. A concise overview of each of the Upa-Puranas is provided in this book to gain an understanding of the material contained within each one.
