Tropical regions of the world are more severely affected by infectious diseases in comparison to the temperate world. Indian claimate is considered tropical.Infectious diseases occuring disproperationaly at high incidence in this region are simply known as tropical diseases.Today tropical diseases remain leading cause of death and disability in developing countries and there is still an important place for a textbook about these diseases. Though the list of diseases is very long but in this textbook we have included some of the most common tropical dieseases encountered in day today practice especially in India.
