The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay is a historical novel about the world of comics, romance and adventure by Michael Chabon. Summary of the Book Josef Kavalier escapes from Prague and journeys to New York, finding solace in the company of his cousin Sam Clay. Neither of them know that they will begin a fascinating friendship, one that lead them to fame. They create a comic strip called “The Escapist”, featuring an anti-Nazi superhero who saves the world from fascist vermin. The comic strip makes them famous, but no one realizes the irony. Joe only desires to bring the story alive by freeing his family from Hitler’s regime. However, it is 1939, at the very height of the Third Reich’s power, and that could be the most difficult task of them all. About Michael Chabon Michael Chabon is an American writer, known for The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and The Yiddish Policemen's Union. Chabon has won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for the above book. The book has been optioned for a movie by Paramount Pictures.
