Paranjape is an Indian author, critic, poet, and public intellectual. He earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently serving as Professor, Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Paranjape was the inaugural Erich Auerbach visiting chair in global literary studies at the University of Tubingen. He has also authored Making India and Body Offering among other works.
