Kwon is a Professor in the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering at the Graduate School of engineering and applied sciences. He completed his BS I mechanical engineering from Seoul national University followed by MS from Oklahoma State University and PhD from Rice University in+ Houston, Texas. Hyochoong Bang completed his B.S. and M.S. degrees in aeronautical engineering from Seoul National. He also completed his PhD from Texas A&M University. He was working as a research assistant professor at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and was employed with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. He is currently the director of Space Exploration Engineering, a multi-disciplinary education program at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
