The Fundamentals Of Landscape Architecture, written by the celebrated arborist Tim Waterman, is the most basic guide for understanding the world we live in and how man and Nature impact each other. He speaks at the elementary level to inspire the most urbanised people to explore and understand, if not nurture the Nature surrounding them. If one is planning to design a landscaped garden, especially set amidst the urban jungle, then Waterman’s book is the guide as he sets out to guide the reader through every step of the project, stage by stage, starting from the site identification and soil analysis to the best type of trees, plants, and shrubs suitable for the final design presentation. The author not only gives the readers the processes involved in landscape designing, he also tells where to go and whom to contact for getting the supplies and maintenance of the same. Tim Waterman is a keen naturalist and arborist, who has done ground-breaking work in promoting green spaces in the urban jungles that most inhabit. He has also written other books like Urban Design. The author graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and is currently a lecturer at the Writtle School of Design in Essex. Waterman is fascinated by the imagination and understanding of man with regard to the development of urban landscape around him.
