The Great Indian City Life is a tribute to the spirit of urbanity and all that it encompasses, the one that has evolved through history to its contemporary fabric. The city is primarily its people and must therefore be a place that fulfils aspirations of work, living and a better quality of life for its inhabitants. The Indian city is marked with great contrasts and diversities that generate both optimism and pessimism, hope and despair, fragility and resilience, inclusion and exclusion, love and hate and innumerable sentiments. Each of the poetic composition herein, walks the reader through the complex urban maze, unforgettable encounters with the city and the self, a roller coaster ride through the experiences and emotions of urban living. Perhaps many of the poem sinter weave a tale of one’s own!! The embedded character of tenacity of the Indian city comes alive as one meets its people, experiences its array of services and activities, travels through its vehicular mesh, connects to its morphological heartbeat and envisions its future! Our relationship with the city is far deeper than we apprehend and through this book, the author wishes to invoke emotions of both joy and anguish. Joy, so that the Indian city with a never say die attitude can be felicitated and celebrated.
