About Daniel Silva Daniel Silva is an American espionage genre novelist. He was born in Michigan, but grew up and was educated in California. His career began in the year 1984 as a journalist, with United Press International. He eventually moved to Washington D.C. and then to Cairo, Egypt, to work as UPI’s Middle East correspondent. He returned to Washington D.C. and started working at the CNN’s Washington Bureau. In 1994, Daniel started to work on his first novel and he quit CNN in the year 1997 to take up writing full-time. He is honoured with the Barry Award for the Year 2007.
