The Iliad tells the story of the 10th and final year of the Trojan War. It focuses on a brave and powerful Greek warrior, Achilles . The reason for ‘Trojan War’ was the abduction of Helen , a queen from Sparta. This abduction was done by Paris, the son of Troy’s King Priam. Troy was besieged for 10 years and eventually conquered by a Greek army led by King Agamimnon. This book is a simplified rendering of Homer’s epic poem the Iliad for young readers.
