This book is a call to arms for those who believe in sound ethical principles and professionalism, in the concept of putting duty before profit, and for those who, like Jack Worthing, may prove to be Ernest after all. The author reflects upon ethics (and lack of them) in five areas: sport, popular entertainment, public life (in particular, the police and politics), big business and the personal injury claims sector. At the end, he brings the seemingly diverse threads together. It is hoped that this book will have resonance for anyone who cares about the British public - especially those who believe that it is, after all, important to be ethical.
