An Anarkali suit is a form of salwar kameez that originated during the Mughal era. It gets its name from the legendary courtesan, Anarkali, whose love story with Prince Salim is a part of folklore. The ensemble is characterized by a long, frock-style kurta that is fitted at the bodice and then flares out dramatically from the waist. This creates a regal, princess-like appearance.
