About Anant Pai Anant Pai was the former editor of Amar Chitra Katha. He is best known for pioneering Indian comics and creating Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle magazine. Uncle Pai, as his fans call him, received much acclaim for his work, including the Yudhvir Memorial Award in Hyderabad, Maharashtra Rajya Hindi Sahitya Academy Award, Lifetime Achievement Award – at the First Indian Comic Convention, New Delhi and Karpoorchand Puraskar of Uttar Pradesh Bal Kalyan Sansthan.
