The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich is a book on the tyranny of Nazi Germany by William L. Shirer. Summary of the Book The Nazis came out of the anger over the result of World War One. They needed a leader, someone they could look up to. Someone they could call Fuhrer. He came to them as a young man, full of emotion over what he faced in World War One. His mind was full of the very thoughts he wrote in his now famous book, calling it his struggles. The Jews had wronged them, he claimed. They had no right to take everything and give them nothing. He professed in the supremacy of the Aryan race, and said that they were now ready to take what was theirs. His name was Adolf Hitler. Hitler’s rise to power was unbelievably rapid, people were swept by his charisma and passionate speech. What ensued rocked the world and gave it the worst war imaginable. This book is the definitive history of the Third Reich, and Hitler’s rise and fall.
