Transport Phenomena is a classic book that covers topics like mass transport, momentum transport, and energy transport. The introduction to transport phenomena that the book provides will remain the foundation for a long-standing progress for the students. The book is broadly divided into three sections, which are, momentum transport, energy transport, and mass transport. Each section discusses the concerned topic in great detail. The first section is subdivided under titles like Viscosity and the Mechanisms of Momentum Transport, Velocity Distributions in Turbulent Flow, and Polymeric Liquids. The second and third sections discuss topics like Thermal Conductivity and the Mechanisms of Energy Transport, and Diffusivity and the Mechanisms of Mass Transport respectively. The extended appendix provides further clarification to the students. About the Author Warren E Stewart, R. Byron Bird, and Edwin N. Lightfoot are the joint authors of the book. All three of them are Professors Emeritus in the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Stewart is currently working on a book on computer-aided reaction modeling. Bird is the recipient of the National Medal of Science in 1987. He has written a number of books which include Molecular Theory of Gases and Liquids and Dynamics of Polymeric Liquids. Edwin N. Lightfoot was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1979 and received the National Medal of Science in 2004.
