Sir Eric Teichman (1884-1944) was a British diplomat and renowned travel writer. In this book, which was first published in 1921, Teichman provides an 'account of a series of journeys through the North-Western Provinces of China, undertaken in connection with the Anglo-Chinese Opium Treaty and other matters requiring investigation on the spot in conjunction with Chinese officials.'
