The book includes in three sections philosophical bases of value development, symposia and a debate on value education, and value-depicting life episodes. Section on philosophical bases of value education covers Swami Vivekananada, Rabindranath Tagore, Bahai’s phenomenological schools, and a sustainable premise and framework for value development. It also provides a multi-module curriculum for value development in higher education. The symposia brings in around a few carefully chosen questions and viewpoints of a Vedantic scholar and statesman, a Humanist economist, a management scientist, Marxist leader of teachers in higher education, a diplomat turned educationist. The debate is joined and taken to a strand by the editor with his own scholarly punch and convictions as an educational thinker.
