Watership Down is a children’s adventure novel by Richard Adams. Summary of the Book When Fiver begins to have premonitions about his warren, his older brother Hazel begins to listen to him. They tell the other rabbits in the warren about Fiver’s visions, and they immediately set out on an unbelievable journey to avoid the impending doom. Along the way, they reveal much about the life of a rabbit and how their society functions. They talk of their religion, their gods and their ancient stories. As their destination, the Watership Downs, looms closer, they begin to see the danger in their quest and rise up to the challenge, not like heroes out of legends but like rabbits out of their warren. This is a kids’ book for adults of all ages. About Richard Adams Richard George Adams is an English novelist. He is also known for Tales from Watership Down, The Plague Dogs and Shardik. Watership Down was adapted into an animated film by Martin Rosen, featuring the voice talents of John Hurt, Richard Briers, Harry Andrews, Simon Cadell, Nigel Hawthorne, and Roy Kinnear.
