This collection of poems is based on childhood stories from a woman who grew up in the American south in the early part of the 20th century. She lived through the great depression, started working in a factory during World War II, raised a family, saw the twentieth century end and the twenty-first begin. She continues to live in the same place where she grew up, working hard as she always has and sharing stories about her life.
