Wild: A Journey from Lost to Found is The New York Times bestseller memoir by Cheryl Strayed, which describes her inspiring 1,100-mile journey on the Pacific Crest Trail. Summary of the Book Cheryl embarked upon a self-discovery journey after she realized there was nothing much left for her to lose in life. Her mother had passed away due to cancer, her marriage had become a failure and her family was disbanded. It was then that she made an impulsive decision of walking and hiking the eleven hundred miles of America’s west coast, alone. She started from the Mojave Desert, through the beautiful Oregon and California, and finally ended the journey in Washington. This book brings out the stories that Cheryl lived during her journey, while on the trail. A film adaptation of Wild is to be released on the 5th of December, 2014, with Reese Witherspoon playing Strayed. About Cheryl Strayed Cheryl Strayed is a famous American novelist, essayist and memoirist. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Cheryl has also authored Torch, and Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar.
