In our recent history of the last two centuries to the current stage of the 21st Century, it is noticeable that women of the world have played a significant role in the economic growth of societies and nations, from agriculture to aerospace and a whole lot in between. Yet, women, in most of the communities in the modern world, have to take on additional responsibilities besides their roles of givers of life, nurturing, and caretaker of the families. The added responsibilities to contribute to the families’ income takes a toll physically and emotionally. Yet, women find themselves proving their worth over and over again at workplaces and in our social, cultural, and justice systems and to be treated equally. Women in many developing countries have led initiatives to reform societies from barriers that limit their growth process, dignity, and empowerment. Often these are seen as collective efforts backed by political powers to implement these supposed changes. Young women today, however, are experiencing the favorable environment that their predecessors have laid grounds for and built those platforms for generations to come, spreading their wings on the shoulders of giants of the past. We can see that CHANGE does not happen overnight; this should not stop us from making efforts for generations to come.
