Katyayani Bt Bio Larvicide Overview: A bio insecticide in powder form containing Bacillus thuringiensis, effective against various insect larval pests by disrupting their gut, leading to their death. Target Pests: Effective against: Tobacco borer Corn borer Stem borer Fruit borer Pod borer Leaf-eating pests Various other larval pests Target Crops: Suitable for: Cotton Paddy Cabbage Chickpea Okra Tomato Cauliflower Chilli Gram Pigeon Pea Soybean Many other crops Mode of Action: Larvae ingest plant material with Bt spores. Spores dissolve, releasing protein crystals in the midgut. Crystals activate into Bt toxins that bind to gut cells, forming pores. Pore formation disrupts cell membranes, leading to cell rupture and pest death. Dosage: 12 kg per acre, applied as a spray. Precautions: Apply 23 days before using chemical pesticides. Best applied in temperatures above 18C, ideally over 30C. Reapply every 1015 days for effective control.
